Your online sewing course for beginners
Our online sewing classes guide you from the basics to your first handmade clothes. Start with the Sewing ABC, then follow six garment projects with video lessons, sewing patterns and advice on choosing fabric and supplies.
In the Sewing ABC, you get to know your machine, practice sewing your first seams and learn how to take measurements.
You’ll receive recommendations for fabric and supplies, along with the sewing pattern. The instructions guide you through cutting out your fabric.
Stefan shows you each step. Pause, rewind and sew along at your own pace. Our tailoring team is here to help with your questions.
After the T-shirt, you move on to more garments. You practice what you’ve learned and add new skills, such as sewing pockets, cuffs and a hood.

Learn to sew with Stefan
Stefan Wimmer has spent decades training apprentices, qualified tailors and master tailors in his bespoke tailoring workshop. In the Basic Sewing Course, he introduces you to the foundations with the same care.
When making the T-shirt, for example, Stefan explains why a jersey needle is gentle on the fabric. You learn the technique and understand what matters as you use it.
The camera shows the work in detail. Pause, rewind and try each step on your own sewing machine.
